Emma Swain

"Growing up in a family of 6, and having two deaf parents reveals just how different my upbringing has been. My past, my experiences and my present create a thread of narrative that runs through my work and stems from my living in an environment void of sound. This is reflection of who I am and how I communicate visually revealed in my photography as a natural tool of expression."

This is an image from her experimental imagery in preparation for threepointfour's exhibition:

Glenn's Iphoneography

Not long ago, we all got given an assignment to take pictures with our camera phones. As a group, we like to embrace a range of different photographic mediums and approach all assignments with an open mind.

Here is Glenn's shoot:

All videoing and editing done by Sarah Kathleen Page, who is also part of the group, "Three point four".

Lisa's exhibition concept.

Inspired by Alfred Steiglitz's quote: "To demand the portrait that will be a complete portrait of any person," he claimed, "is as futile as to demand that a motion picture be condensed into a single still", Lisa wants to challenge the genre of portraiture. She has taken inspiration from artists such as David Hockney, Matisse and Picasso to construct this image:

Titled "Who am I?", this piece consists of numorous portrait images where the colour balance has been altered to reflect the different emotions. She is now looking beyond digital photography and has begun experimenting with large format film and also the Diana F+.

Saskia Cole's exhibition idea.

Saskia is aiming to "recreate pre-raphilite fine art pieces by using a range of models of different ethnicity to show how the times have changed and that we are in a new age of acceptance".
This photograph was taken using a cannon 5D Mark 2 as Saskia wanted to experiment with shooting digital in natural day light. She also took some film images on a Chinon CE-4 and will be developing these shots later next week.

Model: Taryn Storm. Taken at Ferry meadows on a college outing.
